So Edzea arrives home from dance class(es) the other night and announces, ‘ I am NEVER going to jazz dance class again.” Later, while sitting eating dinner she says, “If I had to spend one more minute in jazz dance class, my heart would bleed.”

All because last week she told me her dance class went by so quickly (ballet) and I had her signed up for a Friday jazz class as well (which I was cancelling) until I find out she could tag her jazz class after her ballet. I thought it was win win. Apparently not. Tim says the teacher (the EXACT same one she has for ballet, in the SAME room) says she was fantastic in ballet and wouldn’t move a limb for jazz.

Way to rebel when your Mom tells you you are going to do jazz after ballet and you have a complete meltdown about it in the morning and then your Mom drops you off with no choice later….

Before I forget this little anecdote, I’m writing it down.

I was putting Rohan into his bed for a nap today. He had on a pair of his new Batman pajamas. I go to leave the room when he stands up and says, “Mommy, I can’t wear these to bed. ” I say why not buddy? He replies, “these aren’t pajamas anymore. They’re my gear. My superhero gear.  Same with my other ones in the drawer so I can’t wear them to bed anymore.”

Spoken like a true superhero. I need to get some pictures of him as he dresses up every morning as a superhero with his mask and cape.  It’s pretty adorable!

Daddy had kids all afternoon Sunday by himself, took off Edzea’s training wheels( -5 yrs 4months old) and voila-she’s riding! Needed to write this down before I forgot!!! Plus Neve says tons of words now. I’ll list them when I get time!

We bought Rohan a new bike with training wheels today-it’s bigger than Edzea’s but he’s got the hang of it no problem. He’ll probably be riding without training wheels a lot earlier than her. He is motivated!

Busy whirlwind arrival home. Here are a few pics of first school days for Rohan/Edzea. Also a few from apple picking at an orchard today. We brought Mitchell with us and wow was he ever a great addition!!! He watched Rohan and Edzea the entire time!!! played with them…and they didn’t fight once. Also, the Judes & Whitrows-our neighbourhood friends and kids were with us.

Edzea is in art camp this week and I’m happy with her teacher so far. This is her second big project-a koala bear. Very well done, all on her own. Then I did unicorns with Rohan and Edzea at home. Pretty good for 3 and 5 years old. Guess which one is Rohan’s? Horses are not easy to do and these are essentially horses with horns! Also, pics of the last day of school-ice cream at McDonald’s with the Mariscaks, sleepover with Chloe and teacher gifts-painted pots with lavendar.

Kids had a good swimming lesson again today. We had a little party for Mitchell at our house. 5 kids, no adults but Tim and I. Dead easy! Kids played, ate dinner, played, ate cake, played and then we opened gifts and walked everyone home. 2 hours and easiest party I’ve ever hosted. I’ve added some pictures.

Day 6 Swimming

We found out that it was Mitchell’s birthday today. Of course, the kids want to celebrate with him somehow so I phoned his Dad once the kids were in bed to find out if he could come for dinner tomorrow night. No problem, he’ll be excited said his Dad. One hour later, our doorbell rings but no one is there and this is what I find on our doorstep. He’s such a sweet kid!

I had my book club over tonight. Eight people I believe and Edzea sold 6 of her ten pots. Rohan was her helper and he was putting his hand out for the money for her the whole time. They were both really cute, if I wasn’t hosting, I would have videotaped it. I did get a couple of pictures.
